Elderly Woman Dies After Being Struck By Vehicle in Parking Lot

Henderson, Nev. – A 79-year-old woman died this afternoon after being struck by a U-Haul moving truck in the parking lot of 540 Marks St.
Henderson Police responded to the parking lot around 1:30 p.m. after it was reported that a U-Haul truck drove over the victim and fled the scene.
The victim was transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries.
The driver of the U-Haul truck, 22-year-old Nichole Zimmerman, was stopped by Henderson Police after fleeing the scene and subsequently arrested. Zimmerman is being held at the Henderson Detention Center on felony charges related to leaving the scene of an accident and failing to render aid or notify police.

This is the 11th traffic fatality investigated in 2017.
