Henderson Police Conclude Joining Forces Speeding Enforcement

Henderson, Nev. – The Henderson Police Department, in conjunction with officers throughout the Las Vegas Valley, stopped nearly 800 motorists last month in an effort to combat speeders during the recent Joining Forces initiative that ran from June 10, 2017 through June 28, 2017.
Of the 799 traffic stops completed by officers, 579 drivers were cited for speeding. The officers also issued 8 citations for cell phone use, 11 citations for running red lights, 28 citations for registration violations, 28 citations for no insurance, and several other citations for traffic related offenses.
This was the fifteenth Joining Forces event for Henderson Police under the current grant.
The Henderson Police Department received $203,324.68 in federal funding through the Nevada Department of Public Safety - Office of Traffic Safety for the 2017 Joining Forces program. The grant provides funding for enforcement and education to reduce deaths and injuries on Nevada roadways. Enforcement events during the year will focus on pedestrian safety, seat belt use, speeding, distracted driving and impaired driving.
