Henderson Police Conclude Impaired Driver Joining Forces Event

Henderson, Nev. – Henderson Police, in conjunction with Boulder City and Mesquite Police Departments, arrested three drivers for driving under the influence (DUI) and handed out 302 citations to motorists during a recent enforcement effort targeting impaired drivers.
Henderson Police conducted the Joining Forces event with officers from neighboring jurisdictions, using saturation patrols. The combined effort took place June 30-July 14.
Police initiated 359 stops during the two-week operation, including three arrests for DUI. Officers issued 237 citations to motorists for speeding violations and another 30 citations for insurance and registration violations.
The Henderson Police Department received $203,324 in federal funding through the Nevada Department of Public Safety - Office of Traffic Safety for the 2017 Joining Forces program. The grant provides funding for enforcement and education to reduce deaths and injuries on Nevada roadways. Enforcement events during the year will focus on pedestrian safety, seat belt use, speeding, distracted driving and impaired driving.
