Henderson, Nev. – Henderson Police are investigating a fatal car crash that left three people dead last night when two vehicles collided near the intersection of Stephanie Street and Russell Road.

On Saturday, October 14, at about 11:00 p.m., Henderson Police and Fire responded to calls of a traffic collision involving a 2005 Jeep Liberty and a 2011 Dodge pickup. Initial information obtained at the scene indicated the driver of the Jeep was traveling east on Russell when they left the roadway, drove over the raised median and collided with the Dodge truck, which was traveling westbound on Russell. The Jeep rolled onto its roof and was quickly engulfed in flames. Both the driver and passenger of the Jeep died at the scene. The driver of the Dodge was transported to Sunrise Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The roadway was closed for about six hours while fatal accident investigators conducted their investigation.

The names of the three people killed in the collision will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office after next of kin notifications.

Speed is considered a factor in the crash, but it’s unknown at this time if drugs or alcohol were a factor.

The crash is being investigated as the fifth accident related fatality this year.
