Henderson Police Investigating Fatal Crash Involving Bicyclists

Henderson, Nev. – Henderson Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident on Via Inspirada south of Volunteer Boulevard that claimed the life of a bicyclist this morning.

At approximately 8 a.m., Henderson Police and Fire responded to a 9-1-1 call for a traffic collision involving a Ford Escape and three bicyclists. Preliminary information obtained at the scene indicates that the driver of the Ford Escape and the bicyclists were all traveling southbound on Via Inspirada south of Volunteer Boulevard.  The driver of the Ford Escape may have clipped the three bicyclists resulting in two bicyclists being transported to St. Rose Dominican Hospital - Siena Campus with moderate injuries and one bicyclist succumbing to his injuries at the scene.

The driver of the Ford Escape remained at the scene and has been cooperative with the investigation.

Southbound Via Inspirada south of Volunteer Boulevard will be closed for approximately four hours while fatal accident investigators conduct their investigation.

The name of the bicyclist killed in the collision will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office after next of kin notifications.

The crash is being investigated as the eighth accident-related fatality this year.
