Play takes place at Valley View Recreation Center, 500 Harris St., and is open to players ages 45 and up.

Registration is $15 per player, per event for Henderson residents, $17.25 for Clark County residents and $18.75 for those outside Clark County, and includes a T-shirt. Play options include men’s and women’s singles, open singles, hardbat singles, doubles and mixed doubles.

“We’re pleased to welcome the region’s finest table tennis players to Henderson for this much-anticipated annual tournament,” said Michelle McGory, Recreation Services supervisor, City of Henderson. “It’s an event that brings people together through the spirit of friendly competition.”

The tournament now includes hardbat play, which is experiencing a resurgence among avid players. Hardbat refers to the traditional simple wood and dimpled rubber paddles used until 1952 when sponge-covered paddles were introduced at the World Table Tennis Championships, completely transforming the game.

The tournament follows a round-robin format, with two players from each round advancing to the single elimination stage. Medals are awarded based on the number of entries. All USA Table Tennis rules apply and proper dress code is expected.
