JC Davis joined the city of Henderson in November 2014 as Director of Cultural Arts and Tourism. He oversees the creation and promotion of innovative events, entertainment, programming and venues that celebrate diverse cultural arts, enhance tourism, involve and serve the community, and enrich the economic and cultural fabric of the city.
He and his team coordinate annual events including the Henderson Heritage
Parade, Art Festival of Henderson and WinterFest in the Downtown Water
Street District; performances at the Henderson Pavilion with artists such as
Gin Blossoms, the Henderson Symphony Orchestra and R5; and tourism events
such as the Super Run Classic Car Show, triathlons and the U.S. Open
Synchronized Swimming Championships.
JC previously served for 15 years as a senior public information coordinator and later oversaw the Management Services division of the Las Vegas Valley Water District (LVVWD)and Southern Nevada Water Authority. In those roles, he was responsible for developing and implementing public and media outreach programs related to water conservation, water quality, water resources and environmental issues. He also managed the special events and venue sales functions for the Springs Preserve, a $250 million museum and gardens complex operated by LVVWD.
A public relations professional for more than 20 years, JC earned a journalism degree from San Diego State University. He also served as vice chair of the American Water Works Associationís Public Affairs Council.
