The City of Henderson has been accepted into the AARP’s Network of Age-Friendly Communities and has recently completed a survey of our community to find out how we can become more Age-Friendly! We’re currently working on analyzing the survey results and will be drafting goals and strategies as part of our planning process. Stay tuned for more information soon!
According to AARP, an Age-Friendly Community is a community that is safe and secure, has affordable and appropriate housing and transportation options, and has supportive community features and services. Once in place, those resources enhance personal independence; allow residents to age in place; and foster residents’ engagement in the community’s civic, economic, and social life.
