Jim McIntosh was named Finance Director of the City of Henderson in July 2016. Jim directs, manages, and oversees the operations of the City’s Finance Department. He collaborates with the Chief Financial Officer, the City Council, appointed boards and commissions, and the City’s Executive Management Team. He is responsible for overseeing the development of the City’s Comprehensive Annual Budget Report, the City’s investment program and portfolio, the City’s debt management program, the City’s financial policies and procedures, and ensures application of best practices.
Prior to joining the City, Jim served as the Chief Financial Officer of the Clark County School District, the nation’s fifth largest school district, where he has worked for the past seventeen years and previously served as both the Deputy Chief Financial Officer and the Accounting Director. In his roles as CFO, he provided direct oversight to the accounting, budget, debt management, purchasing, investments, risk management, information technology, and facilities departments. Jim holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, both from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Jim has played an active role in government finance both nationally and locally. He has served on the Government Finance Officer’s Association’s Committee on Accounting, Auditing, and Financial Reporting, and he was appointed by the Governor to serve on the recent Task Force for K – 12 Public Education Funding. He is an alumnus of the Clark County Public Education Foundation Executive Leadership Program, the Harvard Public Education Leadership Project, and currently serves on the Committee on Local Government Finance as a Nevada Association of School Boards appointee.
Jim resides in the City of Henderson with his wife and son. He has been a City of Henderson resident for the past 25 years.
