Since May is National Bike Month and the weather is still "relatively" cool, it’s a perfect time to get out and use the extensive city trails and bike lanes. In fact, once you are out and about on your bike, pedal on over to the new Whitney Mesa Recreation Area, built into the mesa with federal funds from Bureau of Land Management land sales. But you must time it perfectly because if you work up a sweat, you will have less time during the day to cool off using your sprinklers as new watering restrictions kick in for the summer! Enjoy your May in beautiful Henderson, a place to call home.

Sponsored by the League of American Bicyclists, National Bike Month celebrates cycling for fun, fitness or transportation. The City of Henderson's extensive 80-mile trail system provides the perfect opportunity to bike to school and work or safely explore the great outdoors. Kicking off in May, our first citywide bicycling scavenger hunt turns Henderson's award-winning trails into a mystery board game on wheels. Henderson is hosting a variety of other cycling activities throughout the month of May for all ages and abilities. More information is available at

The City of Henderson is also proud to introduce a complimentary Bike Valet service at all major city of Henderson-hosted and sponsored events. Simply bring us your bike and we'll give you a numbered claim ticket as your receipt. Our staff monitors and supervises the valet area throughout the event so your bike is always safe and in good hands. When you're ready to leave, just present the claim ticket at the Bike Valet and you'll be on your way.
