2008 Neighborhood Leadership Recognition and Awards Breakfast

The following neighborhood leaders were recognized for going above and beyond in their efforts to improve their neighborhoods.

COBBLESTONE HOA

Cobblestone HOA residents worked with the City of Henderson and a local girl scout troop to paint red curbs that were worn out in their neighborhood. It was a rewarding community project that helped beautify their neighborhood.

GREEN VALLEY RANCH COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION (GVRCA)

Green Valley Ranch partnered with the City to provide a special seating section at the Rockin’ Blues Music Festival at the Henderson Pavilion. Residents attended the September 20th event and had a great time rocking out with their neighbors.

PALM HILLS HOA

In the spring of 2008, Palm Hills HOA held its first annual Easter Egg Hunt which included prizes, candy, games and face painting. Almost 300 residents attended! Additionally, Palm Hills has developed a Welcome Committee and works with the City and the Henderson Chamber of Commerce to include relevant information in the packets they distribute to new residents.

PEBBLE CREEK HOA

The Pebble Creek HOA volunteers worked with the City and local businesses to repair their deteriorating community park. They converted over $43,000 square feet of grass to desert landscaping. They also incorporated a sand volley ball court, hopscotch, 4-square and a children’s play area. The work was completed in August of 2008 and the community held their 2nd annual Fall Harvest Festival in their new park. 200 residents came out to enjoy games and activities in their new park with their neighbors.

VILLAGE GREEN HOA

Village Green HOA developed a Welcome Committee and holds a welcome barbeque for all new homeowners with the goal of promoting a strong sense of community in their neighborhood.
