City Hall is Listening!

Henderson has grown from a small town to a city in a short span of time. In its days as a small town, communication between the City and residents was fairly easy and often handled with a personal touch. As the population grew, the ability to keep pace with requests and comments became more of a challenge; still the Mayor and City Council expressed its desire to keep in touch with its residents and the need to respond to the public quickly and efficiently. The City began to search for ways to meet this challenge.

The search eventually lead to the creation of Contact Henderson. Think of Contact Henderson as your personal information center for City news, information, and means to contact the City for answers to questions like ‘”How do I obtain permits?” or to request the replacement of a burned out street light. To access the system go to cityofhenderson.com, click on “Contact Henderson” in the news sections. Or you can find the Contact Henderson icon on all other pages on the left hand side of the City's webpage. When clicked, you will be presented with a list of topics. Each topic selected contains information on programs, events, hours of operation, and answers to other questions you may have. Do you have a request, comment, or need for additional information? Scrolling down the Contact Henderson page will take you through the quick and easy steps to contact the City; and by contact we mean any office, including the Mayor and City Council’s Office.

Since the launch of Contact Henderson in 2008, the system has tracked over 13,000 requests responding to those requests within an average time of 48 hours. The Frequently Asked Questions List (FAQs) has logged 38,7000 hits. But the real success of the system is found in customer feedback. A few of the many comments received include:

“I have used this web site several times in the past and I am quite impressed on the results regarding requests or suggestions. I can’t think of a better way of having input into city government and seeing results. Thanks!”

“Thank you for the quick response and clean-up of the dirt and rocks along Stephanie and Horizon Ridge.”

“Contact Henderson is time-efficient, user friendly and very effective.”

Consider too that contacting the City in the comfort of your home or office will save time, expense, and the environment by not having to drive. Henderson is no longer a small town, but like a small town there is still an easy way to stay in touch with your City Government. So go ahead, jump in and talk to us anytime, day or night; we’re listening.

If you would like to learn more about Contact Henderson, practice sessions will be offered directly following the October 26th – Neighborhood Leadership Forum.
