Henderson, Nev. – The city of Henderson will proudly honor the brave men and women currently serving in the United States Armed Forces through its Military Recognition Banner Program. Street banners bearing the name, rank and image of an active military serviceperson will be displayed along portions of Green Valley Parkway and in the Water Street District for approximately six months, from about Veterans Day to Memorial Day.

Henderson residents, businesses or organizations may nominate an honoree and sponsor their street banner for a $150 banner printing fee. The honoree must be a Henderson resident or the immediate family member of a Henderson resident, and must be an active duty member in good standing. There is a limit of one banner per serviceperson.

Once the banners are removed following their six-month display period, the serviceperson will be honored at a ceremony hosted by the city of Henderson.

Nomination forms are available from the Community Development and Services Department and can be requested by phone at (702) 267-1500 or online at cityofhenderson.com. A color picture of the honoree in their formal military dress uniform in a high-resolution (300 dpi) jpeg file format on disc or a 5” x 7” or larger original photograph must accompany the form and banner fee payment. The application is due October 7.
