Henderson, Nev. – In anticipation of the holiday shopping season, the City of Henderson has increased its business license inspections of local shopping areas. The city’s Business License officers are routinely patrolling shopping malls, retail strip malls and parking lots in the weeks leading up to the holidays.

Business License officers are watching for any unlicensed businesses that may have set up for holiday sales. Unlicensed businesses and fraudulent services often attempt to set up in parking lots and in high traffic retail areas in violation of the city’s business license ordinances.

“Our Business License Division’s presence out in the community plays an essential role in not only ensuring all businesses are in compliance with the law, but also in affording our residents a sense of security that they are doing business with a legitimate company,” said Mayor Andy Hafen. “It protects our residents and our properly licensed businesses.”

During the holidays and throughout the winter there may also be an increase in door-to-door solicitation. Anyone conducting business within the City of Henderson is required to obtain a business license. Residents can search for valid business licenses at cityofhenderson.com.

Suspicious business activity may be reported to the City of Henderson Business License Division at (702) 267-1730. Find us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter.
