Henderson Announces Early Safekey and Teen Scene Registration

Henderson, Nev. The city of Henderson is offering early priority registration for its 2013-2014 Safekey and Teen Scene programs. Safekey and Teen Scene are before- and after-school recreational enrichment programs hosted by the city of Henderson at all Henderson public elementary and middle schools.

Early registration is available 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, August 13-16 and from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday through Friday, August 20-23 at Black Mountain Recreation Center, 599 Greenway Rd.; Henderson Multigenerational Center, 250 S. Green Valley Pkwy.; Silver Springs Recreation Center, 1951 Silver Springs Pkwy.; Valley View Recreation Center, 500 Harris St.; and Whitney Ranch Recreation Center, 1575 Galleria Dr.

Early registration will also be available at the Cox Communications Back to School Fair hosted at the Galleria At Sunset, 1300 W. Sunset Rd., at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 24.

Registration must be made in person and provides parents an opportunity to complete the necessary enrollment forms for each child prior to the beginning of the school year.

Safekey is offered before and after school for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Teen Scene is offered after school only for preteens and teens in grades six through eight. Both programs provide structured, supervised activities designed to keep children active and engaged. Safekey and Teen Scene follow the Clark County School District’s 9-month calendar.
