Henderson Kicks Off Holidays with WinterFest
City collecting new, unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots through December 16

The city of Henderson officially welcomes in the holiday season with its annual WinterFest celebration. The event features three days of old-fashioned Christmas festivities, as well as new Christmas traditions. Admission is complimentary.

WHEN & WHERE: Thursday, December 12 at 7 p.m.

WHY: WinterFest kicks off the holidays in Henderson. It celebrates days of Christmas past and present with a variety of family-friendly activities, including horse-drawn carriage rides, strolling carolers, holiday crafts, Santa Claus and an evening light parade, which is scheduled for Saturday, December 14 at 5 p.m.


The Christmas celebration also features a larger-than-life, one-of-a-kind holiday fish aquarium built by Wayde King and Brett Raymer of Animal Planet’s Tanked. The fish tank is on display inside the Henderson Convention Center through WinterFest. The tank, along with Mayor Hafen and guests, will be featured on an all-new episode of Tanked, Thursday, December 12 at 10 p.m. on Discovery and Friday, December 20 at 9 p.m. on Animal Planet.


The Henderson Convention Center is an official location for the U.S. Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots program. Residents may drop off new, unwrapped gifts through Monday, December 16. All gifts collected locally will be given to less fortunate children living in Southern Nevada.
