Henderson, Nev. – Adapted from E.B. White’s most famous children’s novel, the Las Vegas Shakespeare Company brings to life Charlotte’s Web live, onstage, Friday, April 19-Sunday, April 21 and Friday, April 26-Sunday, April 28 at the Henderson Pavilion, 200 S. Green Valley Parkway. Friday and Saturday shows begin at 7:30 p.m. with Sunday matinees starting at 4 p.m. Tickets are $10.

Inspired by one of the bestselling pieces of literature of all time, the musical theatre edition is by Joseph Robinette, a national award-winning children’s playwright, with music and lyrics by Charles Strouse of Annie and Bye Bye Birdie fame. Since hitting the bookshelves in 1952, White’s beloved story, a nod to his own love for farm life in Maine, has sold 45 million copies worldwide and has been translated into 23 languages.

“Charlotte’s Web may be considered a children’s musical, but the life lessons written into the script are ageless,” said show co-director and Henderson resident Rick Pessagno. Co-director Tammy Pessagno agrees, “There’s real warmth and universal appeal that weaves throughout the musical version of White’s internationally-read book.”

Charlotte’s Web stars Wilbur the pig, the runt of the litter, a clever spider named Charlotte, Templeton, a gluttonous rat, and the rest of their animal friends. Set in a barn on Zuckerman Farms, the musical weaves a new spin to the heartwarming tale that teaches fans valuable life lessons, including “friendship is one of the most important things in the world.” The family show features a score of exciting songs, including "Nice To Meet You," "Who Says We Can’t Be Friends?” and “You’re You.”
