The city of Henderson hosts its inaugural Henderson Stroll ‘n Roll next month. The event is the community’s longest and largest car-free street festival, spanning three parks and three miles of family fun along Paseo Verde Parkway. Admission is free.
WHAT: Henderson Stroll ‘n Roll
WHEN: Saturday, November 9 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
WHERE: Paseo Verde Parkway (From Valle Verde Drive to the Henderson Multigenerational Center, 250. S. Green Valley Pkwy.)
WHY: Modeled after the Ciclovia phenomenon that’s sweeping the globe, Henderson Stroll ‘n Roll will transform city streets into a temporary playground for pedestrians and bicyclists. It promotes alternative transportation like bicycling; active, healthy lifestyles; and a sense of community.
Residents can start their Stroll ‘n Roll journey at any point of the route. Along the way, participants will experience a car-free celebration with games, children’s activities and live music in the streets. They can also stop at any three entertainment zones, Paseo Verde Park, Discovery Park and the Henderson Multigenerational Center, and enjoy interactive demonstrations, free fitness classes and food trucks.
