Motorcycle Rider Dies in Crash

A motorcycle rider died Thursday when he was struck by a car.
A 51-year-old Henderson man was riding a Yamaha motorcycle eastbound on Horizon Ridge Parkway approaching the intersection of Rich Perez Jr. Drive Thursday about 7:01 a.m. when a Dodge Neon, travelling westbound on Horizon Ridge Parkway, made a left turn in front of the motorcycle rider.
The rider, who was the sole occupant, was ejected and sustained injuries. He was taken to St. Rose Dominican Hospital - Siena Campus for treatment; however, he died from his injuries. The man was the registered owner of the motorcycle and did have a motorcycle driver’s license.
Speed, drugs or alcohol are not suspected to be involved. The roadway is closed while fatal accident investigators conduct their investigation.
The driver of the Dodge Neon, a 17-year-old juvenile, was uninjured.
The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s name after he has been positively identified and his family has been notified.
The man’s death was the sixth traffic-related fatality in Henderson this year.
