Henderson, Nev. – As part of the city of Henderson’s ongoing effort to crack down on illicit activities at some massage parlors, Henderson Police officers conducted compliance checks at 39 licensed massage and/or reflexology businesses late Monday and early Tuesday to ensure the businesses were operating within their business licenses.

Officers checked the various businesses after numerous complaints came into the police department by citizens and other local business owners and managers regarding the massage parlors and reflexology establishments. It was also learned that several locations were advertising on on-line websites offering service 24 hours a day in violation of Henderson Municipal Code 04.84.210.

Of the 39 businesses checked, seven businesses were in violation of the city law that governs such establishments. The businesses were checked to ensure they were not open past 10 p.m. and the exterior windows were not tinted or covered to not allow a view inside the establishment from the exterior. The businesses cited were in violation of one or both of these provisions.

The businesses that failed were:

  • 7 Sunny Massage, 256 E. Lake Mead Parkway
  • Sunbright Massage & Spa, 1628 W. Warm Springs Road
  • #8 Foot Reflexology, 1643 W. Warm Springs Road
  • Ling Spa, 1690 W. Sunset Road
  • The Spa YI, 4011 E. Sunset Road
  • Sunset Spa, 4130 E. Sunset Road
  • Sunshine Massage, 594 N. Stephanie Street.

The employees were issued citations for offering services after the mandated closure time in the law and face a maximum penalty of six months in jail and/or a $1,000 fine. Each of the businesses must remain closed until they meet with the city of Henderson Business License supervisor.
