Henderson, Nev. – Make A Difference Day is the largest national day of community service and millions of volunteers around the world will unite in a common mission to improve the lives of others. The city of Henderson Volunteer Partnership Program is an online resource that can help you get involved and take part in this national movement.
The Volunteer Partnership Program helps match groups and individuals needing assistance with volunteers who want to give back locally. Those seeking volunteers can register their projects online through a simple application on the city of Henderson website. Residents who register as volunteers can list their skills and experience. Individuals and groups are then able to search the database and match their interests.
“Each year we witness the positive impact of the hundreds of groups and volunteers who donate their time and energies to give back to the community,” said Henderson Mayor Andy Hafen. “Helping for even just one day can change a life.”
Make A Difference Day is celebrated annually on the fourth Saturday in October and connects people with opportunities to serve, increases the strength of communities and promotes civic engagement. With dozens of projects to choose from, the Volunteer Partnership Program makes it easy for Henderson residents to get involved and make a difference.
There is no fee for the Volunteer Partnership Program and the city does not screen, sponsor or endorse any group or volunteer. For more information, contact Emily Lewis at (702) 267-2008 or visit cityofhenderson.com.
