Henderson Offers Early Priority Safekey and Teen Scene Registration

Henderson, Nev. Parents are invited to take advantage of early priority City of Henderson 2014-2015 Safekey and Teen Scene registration. Safekey and Teen Scene are before- and after-school recreational enrichment programs hosted by the City of Henderson at all Henderson public elementary and middle schools.

Early registration is available 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, August 12-15 and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, August 19-22 at Black Mountain Recreation Center, 599 Greenway Rd.; Downtown Recreation Center, 105 W. Basic Rd.; Henderson Multigenerational Center, 250 S. Green Valley Pkwy.; Silver Springs Recreation Center, 1951 Silver Springs Pkwy.; Valley View Recreation Center, 500 Harris St.; and Whitney Ranch Recreation Center, 1575 Galleria Dr.

Parents may also register in advance at the Cox Communications Back to School Fair hosted at the Galleria at Sunset, 1300 W. Sunset Rd., starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 23.

Registration must be made in person. It provides parents an opportunity to complete enrollment forms for each child prior to the beginning of the school year and to ask questions about the programs.

Safekey is offered before and after school for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Teen Scene is offered after school only for preteens and teens in grades six through eight. The programs provide structured, supervised activities designed to keep children active and engaged. Safekey and Teen Scene follow the Clark County School District’s 9-month calendar.
