Henderson Police Apprehend Child Abductors

Henderson, Nev. – Henderson Police apprehended a 50-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman accused of abducting the woman’s 3-year-old son on March 6.
Karl R. Menz and Virginia M. Lynch abducted the boy the morning of March 6 from a Burger King in Crestview, Fla. The suspects do not have custodial rights to the child and abducted him during a supervised visit. They were last seen in a 2013 white U-Haul van.
Based on information provided by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Henderson Police officers responded to the area of Boulder Highway and Lake Mead Parkway and located the suspects on April 3 at about 1 p.m.
The suspects were found in the white U-Haul van but had removed the distinctive markings. Both suspects surrendered without incident and the boy was found unharmed in the back of the van.
The boy, who is non-verbal and autistic, was placed with Clark County Child Protective Services.
The suspects were booked into the Henderson Detention Center for possession of stolen vehicle and outstanding warrant, wanted from other jurisdiction.
