Bike It or Hike It

April 1-May 31
Explore our many miles of trails by bike or on foot and snap a selfie in front of any City of Henderson trail sign, including trailheads, kiosks, interpretive signs, and signs on paths or trails within our parks. Like or follow Henderson Sports & Recreation on Facebook or Twitter, then post or Tweet your selfie using the hashtag #bikeitorhikeit2017. Enter as many times as you’d like, but each selfie must be unique. You could win weekly prizes of gift cards valued at $25-$50 or even the grand prize of a Giant Escape bike, valued at $600. Summer Youth Basketball League

Our basketball league provides a well-rounded team sports experience for young athletes. The
program helps to develop skills such as footwork, ball handling, passing, dribbling techniques, shooting form, and teamwork. The level of skill development increases throughout the program, but provides a solid foundation and welcoming atmosphere for new players in every age division. Register by May 18 at the Sports office, any recreation center, or online. 

Crazy Spokes

April 8, 9am
Henderson Events Plaza, 200 S. Water St. 

Crazy Spokes features a few hours of pedal-pumping fun! Sign up for the educational 15-mile guided group ride and experience bicycle-friendly roads and trails while learning the fundamentals of distance riding. Or sign up for the family fun ride, where you can dress in throwback attire and put a handlebar mustache and pom-poms on your bicycle. All riders receive lunch at the end of their ride, along with a commemorative T-shirt (while supplies last). Ages 5-17 are $10 and ages 18+ are $15 for advance registration. Add $5 if you register the day of the event. Register for the rides online or at any recreation center.  

Winter/Spring Hiking Series – Bristlecone Loop Trail

April 15, 7am-2pm
Meet at Downtown Recreation Center, 105 W. Basic Rd.
 
Join us for a 6-mile hike on the Bristlecone Loop Trail. This is a great way to get in shape while exploring the trail. Dress for the weather. Teens (14-17 years) must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Register using activity code 641071-60. Ages 14+; $14

HMGC Saturday Spree Craft Fair

April 15, 10am-2pm
Henderson Multigenerational Center, 250 S. Green Valley Pkwy.
 
Sell your art, jewelry, craft items and retail goods. Tables are set up in three of our indoor rooms. Registration includes one six-foot table and two chairs. There is limited space available. All vendors must be 18+ and set up and take down their own displays. All items must fit on the table provided. Reserve your table for $30 using activity code 151219-24. Free admission to shop. All ages welcome.

Egg Dive

Heritage Park Aquatic Complex, 310 S. Racetrack Rd.

Join us for an underwater egg hunt and an amazing egg drop. Dozens of eggs are hiding in our pool, and swimmers win prizes for the eggs they find. Register online using activity code 136065 (Heritage Park) and 136765 (Whitney Ranch) at any recreation center/indoor pool, or at the door. Children under the age of 8 must be supervised by a parent/guardian within arm's reach, including in the water. Ages 2-12; $5

Spring Carnival & Hippity-Hop Egg Hunt

April 15, 11am-2pm
Whitney Ranch Recreation Center, 1575 Galleria Dr.
 
Celebrate spring  and enjoy a few hours of fun for the whole family with carnival games, bounce houses and refreshments. Children (ages 1-10 years) can participate in the Hippity-Hop Egg Hunt. Arrive on time as the egg hunt starts promptly at designated times for each age group (1-3 yrs. at 11:15 a.m.; 4-7 yrs. at 12:15 p.m., and 8-10 yrs. at 1:15 p.m.). The bunny will visit and picture packages are available for a nominal cost. Register early and receive a discount (activity code 151151-36). All ages; $3 in advance, $5 day of event
