Rover Run

March 4, 9am
Cornerstone Park, 1600 Wigwam Pkwy.
An all-new 5K fun run for dogs and their human friends will take place prior to Bark in the Park. The first 350 registered participants will receive a T-shirt and a finisher dog tag for their dog’s collar. Registration starts at $25 per person. Use activity code 151234-58 when registering online or in person at one of the city’s recreation centers.

Bark in the Park

March 4, 10am-2pm
Cornerstone Park, 1600 Wigwam Pkwy.
It’s four hours of fun for you and your dog. Watch demonstrations and visit informational and vendor booths, take part in fun contests, and meet lots of beautiful dogs looking for forever homes. All pets must be leashed and handlers must be at least 10 years old. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets. Admission is free.

Desert Jam 3-on-3 Youth Basketball Tournament

March 11, 9am
Downtown Recreation Center, 105 W. Basic Rd.
Teams are guaranteed three games in this double elimination tournament. Each team may register up to three players and one alternate. Teams must be player coached. Divisions are boys and girls ages 10-11 and 12-13. Each participant receives a tournament T-shirt. Registration is $40 per team. Sign up by March 8 using activity code 621212.

Henderson Hoop Madness Tournament

March 11, 9am-3pm
Henderson Multigenerational Center, 250 S. Green Valley Pkwy.
Whether playing for fun, exercise, or the glory of being a champion, our tournament will get your team pumped. This four-on-four adult basketball tournament features 20-minute full-court games played on a shortened court to provide fast-paced action. There is a three-game guarantee. Competitive and recreational divisions are available based on registration. Awards are presented to the winning teams. Register using activity code 151226-24. Pot O' Gold

March 17, 6:30pm-8:30pm
Henderson Multigenerational Indoor Pool, 250 S. Green Valley Pkwy.
The leprechauns had so much fun swimming that they lost their pot of gold somewhere on the bottom of the pool. Join us for a wee bit of magical shenanigans as we search for their lost treasure. Diving for lost gold begins at 7pm., with participants diving by age group. Register using activity code 136389-00, at any recreation center/indoor pool, or at the door. Children under the age of 8 must be supervised by a parent/guardian within arm's reach, including in the water. All ages; $5

St. Patty's Day Lock In

March 17, 7pm-7am
Valley View Recreation Center, 500 Harris St.
Try to stay awake as you search for the gold at the end of the rainbow. It’s leprechaun hunting, St. Patrick’s Day movies, games, and activities all night long. Bring a sleeping bag and a pillow. A continental breakfast is served in the morning. Register using activity code 151232-48. Ages 9-13; $36

River Mountains Loop Trail Cleanup

March 18, 8am-Noon
Equestrian Park South, 1298 Equestrian Dr.
Join us for spring cleaning at the annual River Mountains Loop Trail Cleanup. Transportation is provided from Equestrian Park South to the trail. Hat, water, sunscreen, sturdy shoes and gloves are recommended. Youth (ages 5-12) must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Teens (ages 13-17) must have a waiver signed by a parent/guardian. Registration and orientation are from 8am-8:30am. Ages 5+; Free

Be Kind Extravaganza

March 18, 10am-Noon
Downtown Recreation Center, 105 W. Basic Rd.
Our Be Kind Extravaganza is packed with activities for all ages, including a bounce house, board and video games, plenty of giveaways, plus food and beverages (while supplies last). You won’t want to miss our featured performance by the Society of Light-Saber Duelists UNLV, which specializes in choreographed custom light saber duels. Bring a friend and spread the Be Kind message. All ages; free

Backyard Battle Royal Cornhole Tournament

March 25, 9am
Russell Road Recreation Complex, 5901 E. Russell Rd.
Open to men’s, co-rec, women’s and youth divisions with a three game guarantee. Registration is $40 per team and must be received by March 22. Call the Sport Office at 702-267-5717 for more information.

Movie in the Park - The Lion King

Spring & Summer Registration Begins April 4

Registration for most of our spring and summer classes and activities begins on April 4. Watch for our latest edition of Henderson Happenings in mid-March either in your mailbox (Henderson residents) or online. You can register for summer camps, swimming lessons and enjoyable classes for all ages.

April Pool’s Day Celebration

April 1, 3pm-8pm
Henderson Multigenerational Activity Pool, 250 S. Green Valley Pkwy.
Join the City of Henderson and the Southern Nevada Child Drowning Prevention Coalition to help put an end to child drownings. Visit our free all-ages safety workshop and learn how to:

•          Safeguard your home

•          Prevent accidents

•          Respond to emergencies

•          Keep your children safe in and around the water

Explore the workshop from 3pm-5pm and swim for free until 8pm. All ages

Lifeguards Wanted

We’re still looking for lifeguards to fill part-time and seasonal openings. Lifeguarding is a great start to a rewarding career path. Seasoned lifeguards often transition to careers in teaching, emergency services, management and the hospitality industry. HMGC Saturday Spree Craft Fair

April 15, 10am-2pm
Henderson Multigenerational Center, 250 S. Green Valley Pkwy.
Sell your art, jewelry, craft items and retail goods. Tables are set up in three of our indoor rooms. Registration includes one six-foot table and two chairs. There is limited space available. All vendors must be 18+ and set up and take down their own displays. All items must fit on the table provided. Reserve your table for $30 using activity code 151219-24. Free admission to shop. All ages welcome.
