Youth Soccer and Volleyball Leagues

Our soccer and volleyball leagues help to develop a wide array of skills and the importance of teamwork. The programs offer progressive skill development, providing opportunities for players at all skill levels an opportunity to excel, including those new to the sport. Teams are formed based on a player rating system. Practices begin after September 5. Register online or at any recreation center June 5-August 7.

It’s Time to Slide Into Summer

June 9, 6:30pm-9:30pm
Anthem Hills Park, 2256 N. Reunion Dr.
School’s finally out, so now it’s time to Slide Into Summer. Bring a towel because you will get wet! Activities include our infamous giant slip and slide, mini slip and slide for the little ones, bounce house and lawn games. Refreshment concessions will be available. Appropriate swim attire is required. Register online (activity code 336361-00), at any recreation center/indoor pool, or at the event. All ages; $5

Seasonal Pools Open for Summer

June 10-August 13
Summer officially kicks off in Henderson as we open our seasonal pools for your swimming, splashing and sliding enjoyment. The following pools will be open from Noon-6pm Monday through Thursday, and from 11am-6pm on Friday through Sunday:

  • BMI Outdoor Swimming Pool
  • Black Mountain Aquatic Complex
  • Henderson Multigenerational Activity Pool
  • Silver Springs Outdoor Swimming Pool
  • Wells Outdoor Swimming Pool
  • Whitney Ranch Activity Pool

Movie in the Park - Cars

Bring your blanket and lawn chair for a fun-filled night with family and friends featuring a movie shown on our giant inflatable screen. Register using activity code 153220-58. All ages; $5

 

World’s Largest Swimming Lesson

June 22, 9am-10am
Whitney Ranch Aquatic Complex, 1575 B Galleria Dr.
Help us spread the world that swimming lessons save lives as we take part in the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson. People in 600 locations around the world will simultaneously be taking part as we attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest simultaneous swimming lesson. The current record was set at the 2014 event when 36,564 people swam their way into the record books. Learn about drowning prevention, join us for a great lesson, and maybe find yourself setting a new world record. Register online (activity code 336729), at any recreation center/indoor pool, or at the event (arrive a few minutes early). All ages; free

Glow-in-the-Dark Nerf War

June 23, 5:30pm-10pm
Valley View Recreation Center, 500 Harris St.
Wear comfortable tennis shoes and a white T-shirt to decorate for our 10,000-square-foot, glow-in-the-dark obstacle course. Bring your Nerf gun (labeled with your name) and we’ll supply the ammo. Late pickup charges apply. Register using activity code 153229-48. Ages 10-15; $15

Hit the Road: La Jolla Beach Day

June 24
Sit back and leave the driving to us as we head out for a day at the beach. Swim, surf, shop and take in spectacular scenery in beautiful La Jolla, California. Price includes round-trip transportation. Children and teens must be accompanied by a registered adult. Visit us online for departure/arrival details. Olympic Day

June 24, 6pm
Whitney Mesa BMX Track, 1575 W. Galleria D.
Take part in a free day of BMX racing in celebration of Olympic Day. This event helps to promote Olympic values and participation in the sport across the globe, regardless of age, gender or athletic ability. A USA BMX membership is not required to participate. Enroll at the track between 6pm and 7:30pm. The action begins immediately after.
