Do you love to cook and prepare healthy meals?
We want your recipes! The Healthy Henderson Recipe Contest promotes the consumption of healthy foods and enhances education of nutrition and healthy cooking. Submit your best dish for a chance at prizes. If your submission is unique, original, healthy and meets the contest standards, it will be published in our new Healthy Henderson cookbook. The top 15 finalists will be invited to an exclusive recipe tasting and judging event on March 26 at the Art Institute of Las Vegas. Prizes will be awarded to the top recipe in each category.
Once submitted, each recipe will be reviewed by the Healthy Henderson team in partnership with food service professionals, including chefs and representatives from the UNLV Nutrition Department, and the Southern Nevada Health District.
Each recipe should include at least one of the four requirements:
1. Contain at least two types of fruits and/or vegetables.
2. Contain a lean protein (legumes, beans, poultry, fish, etc.)
3. Contain a whole grain (oats, corn, whole wheat, brown rice, quinoa, etc.)
4. Contain a low or fat-free dairy product or milk substitute.

The Healthy Henderson cookbook is scheduled to be published and available in May, 2015. Submit your original recipe starting Friday, January 2 and get ready to compete and share your favorite healthy appetizer, entr้e or dessert!
