Aquatics Job Fair

We’re looking for some great lifeguards. If you’re upbeat, enjoy working with the public and want to be part of a premier team, then maybe we’re looking for you. We have seasonal and year-round positions available and are flexible in working around your school schedule. There are 140 jobs to fill, including lifeguards, water safety instructors, senior recreation assistants and recreation assistants. Arrive ready for an interview and in-water skills test. Birding Celebration

Celebrate Earth Day and International Migratory Bird Day with walks, tours, and hands-on activities for all ages. The event promotes conservation, stewardship and a love for the great outdoors. All ages. Free

Birding Under the Stars
May 17, Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve, 350 E. Galleria Dr.
7:30pm-9:30pm, Saturday
Birding Under the Stars is a nighttime birding experience featuring a staff-guided tour to observe nocturnal birds and other wildlife. Participants must arrive 15 minutes early to check in, and all children must be accompanied by an adult. Ages 8+ $14 per person. Super Summer Safety Fair
May 30, Henderson Multigenerational Center/Aquatic Complex, 250 S. Green Valley Pkwy.
3pm-8pm, Friday
The event is being held simultaneously at Southern Nevada Child Drowning Prevention Coalition partner pools across the Las Vegas valley to educate parents, guardians and day care providers about infant and child safety in and around the water. Those attending between 3pm and 6pm will receive free admission to the activity pool between 4pm and 8pm Children under the age of 8 must be supervised by an adult within arm’s reach at all times. All ages. Free

Slide Into Summer

School’s finally out, so now it’s time to slide into summer with the City of Henderson Public Works, Parks and Recreation Department. Bring a towel, because you will get wet! Activities include a giant slip and slide, mini slip and slide for the little ones, bounce house and lawn games. Food will be available for purchase. Be part of a Guinness World Record attempt for the world’s largest swimming lesson! .An estimated 25,000 people around the world on five continents will simultaneously be taking part. Participating parents may receive a certificate valid for free swim lessons (while supplies last) for a child ages 6 months to 4 years. Funding is provided through a grant from the Southern Nevada Chapter of the International Code Council. All ages. Free

Cosmic Swim

8pm-10pm, Friday
Get set for an evening of music and fun, including diving for glow gear and cosmic swimming races. Check out the pool as the water “changes” color. All ages $5 per person.

Parents Night Out—Aquatic Style

Need an evening without the kids? Let them take part in our aquatic-themed Parents Night Out. They’ll enjoy games, swimming and dinner (pizza, drinks and dessert).
