Jr. Lifeguard
November 3-December 13
Days/times/locations vary
The Jr. Lifeguard program introduces you to lifeguarding and working in an aquatic facility. Learn hands-on lifeguarding skills as well as how to assist with swim lessons. Following the training program (held the first week), you’ll be given a schedule based on availability. Then you can assist at one of our pools, shadow lifeguards and help with swim lessons. Upon successful completion of the program, you’ll know what it takes to become a lifeguard and be prepared to participate in the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training course, if desired. A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving

Join us for Charlie Brown’s annual Thanksgiving dinner. We recreate his pretzels, popcorn and jelly bean dinner to enjoy while watching the movie. Frankie & Nina’s Big Italian Wedding

Get set for the most interactive lunch/dinner show—and the biggest wedding—you’ll ever experience. Join two kids from Brooklyn as they walk down the aisle and attempt to bring their two wacky families together. You get to play the part of a family member or friend, toast the happy couple, enjoy a delicious pasta lunch, and dance your cares away. Junior Naturalist Day
November 29, Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve, 350 E. Galleria Dr.

Junior naturalists go out into the field with a knowledgeable Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve staff member to collect data on weather conditions, plants, animals, and birds. The hands-on workshop focuses on outdoor exploration and investigation and encourages a respect for the natural world. Ages 6-12. Parents Night Out At The Pool

3:30pm-6:30pm, Saturday
Parents, enjoy a few hours to yourself and leave the kids with us for three hours of aquatic-style fun. The event includes a dive-in movie on our big screen, interactive games and swimming activities. Pizza, refreshments and dessert are included. In order to participate, children must be able to swim at least one length of the pool comfortably. A parent/guardian must pick up their child promptly at 6:30pm as children are not allowed to leave the facility on their own and will be released only to a parent/guardian. Candy Cane Festival

Celebrate the magic of winter with games, a bounce house, treats, letters to Santa and an underwater candy cane hunt. Children under the age of 8 must be supervised by a parent/guardian within arm’s reach at all times. The per-person cost is considered paid admission and applies to each person wishing to enter the event (participants and spectators alike). All pool rules apply. Holiday Lights Tour

Join us for an evening of merriment by taking a tour of the city’s colorful holiday lights. Put on your stocking cap and mittens and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate. Children 8 and under must be accompanied by an adult. If you are bringing a booster seat for your child, contact us in advance at 702-267-5850. Holiday Tree Recycling

Give your holiday tree a new lease on life ... recycle it. Drop off your holiday tree during regular park hours at seven Henderson locations. Please remove all non-organic material, including lights, ornaments, wires, and tinsel. Flocked and artificial trees cannot be recycled.

Howie Landa’s Holiday Hoop Camp
December 22-24, Henderson Multigenerational Center, 250 S. Green Valley Pkwy.
9am-Noon, Monday-Wednesday
Former UNLV men’s basketball head coach Howie Landa uses drills and lectures to teach kids ball handling, defense, passing and shooting. The camp is designed to enhance young players’ fundamentals and skills. Registration includes a camp shirt. Ages 8-16 $80. Polar Bear Plunge

The Polar Bear Plunge is back! ”Bear” the freezing weather and take a bracing plunge down the slides into the unheated activity pool. Warm up with tasty winter treats, a bounce house and hands-on activities. We’ll have prizes and goody bags for the first 100 participants. The plunge is not recommended for those with heart conditions or high blood pressure. Children under the age of 8 must be supervised by a parent/guardian within arm’s reach at all times.
