Henderson PoliceDetention Center
The philosophy governing the Henderson Detention Center is that one's loss of freedom is, in itself, sufficient punishment. All inmates will be treated with dignity and respect.
This division provides detention services for City misdemeanants, United States Marshal Service inmates, Immigration and Customs Enforcement inmates, U.S. Park Service, Clark County inmates, and Boulder City Police Department misdemeanor arrestees.
The Division is organized under the Office of the Chief of Police and The Deputy Chief of Support, overseen by a Corrections Superintendent/Captain . The Corrections Division currently maintains a staff of approximately 114 employees, including Corrections Officers, Sergeants, Lieutenants, Detention Center Technicians, Central Control Room Operators, Classification Technicians, Cooks, and Police Administrative Specialists. This division manages an average daily inmate population of approximately 503 inmates. Unless remanded to adult status by the court having jurisdiction over the case, juveniles are not housed in this facility.
Medical and mental health care is provided by a contracted medical service provider which includes 24 hours nursing care, weekly physician and psychiatric visits as well as basic dental care.
