Traffic Unit - Investigative Detail

Accident Investigations

The officers assigned to the Accident detail handle all fatal and serious injury accidents, officer involved accidents, and hit and run investigations. While not investigating accidents, officers check the complaint log and conduct enforcement activities in the high complaint areas.

In 2010 there were 2,787 traffic collisions recorded within the city of Henderson. Of those recorded collisions, 593 had reported injuries. Included in the injury collisions, eight involved fatalities with a total of nine deaths.

Below is a comparison chart showing a reduction in all accident categories. Most notably, there was a 1 percent reduction in injury accidents, 4 percent overall reduction in total accidents and 2 percent reduction in reports taken.

These intersections will continue to be a primary focus of enforcement efforts of Henderson Traffic Officers as well as enforcement efforts by the Southern Nevada Traffic Task Force.
