Public Service Excellence Deliver effective and efficient services to the community The citizens of Henderson benefit when the city is run efficiently, promotes policies and practices that enhance sound financial management and is focused on providing high quality services and programs. In fiscal year 2012, the city established the Henderson Quality Initiative to demonstrate a commitment to public service excellence. Through this initiative, the city will implement programs and best practices that will result in efficient resource allocation, quality services and effective decision-making while promoting citizen involvement. Major Challenge Areas: • Quality of City Services • Records Backlog • Reduction in Traditional Media Outlets for Citizen Communication • Training Alignment to Business Needs • Document Management • Lack of Formal Properly Structured Policy Formulation Approach Highlights: • Streamline and improve the way the city conducts business using a reduced workforce • Increase use of non-traditional media sources, including social media and live-streamed sources, to respond to correct misinformation • Improve employee training and development opportunities • Develop a document management system that uses less paper to reduce the number of lost/missing case files and increase staff productivity 10 | 2014-2019 Strategic Plan
