DISCLAIMER:  Under the Federal Controlled Substances Act, marijuana is classified as a Schedule I controlled substances due to its high potential for abuse, no accepted medical use, and no accepted safety for use in medically supervised treatment; therefore marijuana remains an illegal substance.  The United States Supreme Court has stated that the application of the Controlled Substance Act provisions that criminalize the manufacture, distribution, or possession of marijuana for medical purposes is constitutional.  Thus, the legalization of medical marijuana is contrary to the Controlled Substances Act and people who are acting under contrary state medical marijuana laws may be subject to prosecution by the U.S. Government.

The documents on this webpage remain preliminary until final action has been taken by the City Council and the State of Nevada, as appropriate.
