City of Henderson water and sewer charges are billed together on one monthly utility bill.
Monthly water rates consist of a service charge based on meter size, plus a volume consumption charge based on a four-tier rate structure. As water consumption increases and the volume of water used crosses the threshold between tiers, there is a proportionally larger increase in the consumption charge. The service charge and volume consumption charge vary depending on the type of account and water meter size. The majority of Henderson customers are single family residences and have a 3/4 inch meter. For a complete list of rates for all meter sizes and customer classes, contact the Customer Care Center at (702) 267-5900 or view the Department of Utility Services Service Rules.
The City of Henderson adopted a four-tier rate structure in 2003 to encourage water conservation. Customers who conserve water fall into the lower tiers and are rewarded by a lower water rate. The average Henderson single family residence consumes approximately 15,000 gallons of water per month, with volume consumption falling within the first two tiers.

Monthly water and wastewater charges are calculated on a daily basis and may vary slightly from month to month. Water meters are read Monday through Thursday, and if a scheduled meter read date falls on a weekend or holiday, it is read on the next available work day. This causes billing cycles to vary in the number of days of service but you still receive 12 utility bills during the year. The service charges on your bill will reflect the daily rate based on the number of days in your billing cycle for that particular month.
