Angela M. Brommel is a Nevada writer and curator with Iowa roots, and the current Clark County Poet Laureate. The author of two books, Mojave in July (Tolsun Books) and Plutonium & Platinum Blonde (Serving House Books), her poetry has been published in the North American Review, The Best American Poetry blog, and many other journals and anthologies. In 2018 she was the inaugural Red Rock Canyon Artist in Residence, serving as the poet of the program. She serves as Editor-in-Chief and Poetry Editor for The Citron Review. Angela also serves as Senior Advisor & Executive Director for the Arts and affiliate faculty at Nevada State College.  

Liz Galvez currently attends Nevada State College, and travels between dimensions to write poetry about it.  She is currently pursuing her Honors Bachelor of Arts in English, minoring in Creative Writing with an emphasis in poetry. Liz is honored to be the recipient of the John Oliver Simon Award and receive 1st place at Nevada State’s URCW Creative Works panel in Spring 2022. Grace Hwang is a senior in the AMSAT program at Clark High School and will attend the University of Chicago. Since kindergarten, she has taken great pleasure in reciting poems and exploring each of their nuanced meanings. Grace is an avid writer, having self-published the chapbook For the Best., and she is a scholar of the works by J. R. R. Tolkien. Finally, Grace is the principal flutist of the 2022-2023 Nevada All-State Orchestra. 

Bruce Isaacson was the first Poet Laureate of Clark County, Nevada. He is also publisher of Zeitgeist Press, with one hundred twelve titles to date. His most recent book is Leningrad to Las Vegas. Bruce earned degrees at Claremont McKenna, Dartmouth, and Brooklyn College, where he submitted a thesis to noted American poet Allen Ginsberg. He has lived or worked in Mexico, Paris France, Leningrad Russia and Berkeley California.

Genevy Machuca is a senior attending Southwest CTA in Las Vegas, and is set to attend the University of Nevada, Reno in the fall. She is an accomplished writer, athlete, and public speaker with a passion for poetry. Genevy has competed in numerous competitions, including the Spark! Youth Poetry Competition at the Las Vegas Book Festival, where she took home second place. Her talent for writing has earned her recognition in her community, and she hopes to continue using her skills to bring awareness to important issues.

Monarch is a bold & eccentric poet. He's won multiple slam titles and headlined festivals across the country. He uses his experiences as a Black, queer, transgender man to create masterful poems. He's a pillar to his community and strives to makes a change in the world.

Ilakkiya Suresh is a teen poet, musician and avid reader who is a 7th grader at Del Webb Middle School. She wishes to use poetry to bring awareness to issues that require change. She successfully executed her Silver Project for Girl Scouts; a poetry jam about mental health. Additionally, she is the vice president of her school's NJHS, is part of the school's Chamber Orchestra, and was district champion for the CCSD Spelling Bee 2021.

Aarav Thanki is a 5^th grade student at Challenger School.  His favorite subjects are Math and Literature.  He has been reciting famous poems in his class and at school speech festivals since kindergarten.  Outside of school, Aarav enjoys swimming, playing the piano, creating art, robotics, and working towards beating his current three-by-three Rubik’s cube solving time of 41.12 seconds. 

Originally from Everett Washington, Kendrick Seeber is majoring in Environmental & Resource Science at Nevada State College. As a poet and musician, Kendrick finds poetry and writing fulfilling because they allow you to share your feelings in your own way.
