CCSD Schedules Town Hall Meeting in Henderson

Henderson, NV. – Clark County School District (CCSD) Superintendent Dr. Jesus F. Jara will present the CCSD Board of Trustees’ and his vision for the next five years, as well as key items for the legislative session, at a CCSD Town Hall meeting set for Monday, Jan. 14, at the Henderson Convention Center, 200 S. Water St. The meeting is scheduled for 6:00-8:00 p.m.
This 5-year vision follows the conclusion of Dr. Jara’s extensive listening tour, which included 125 community meetings and events that were attended by more than 4,600 people. In addition to his community visits, the superintendent toured more than 100 schools and departments.
The Henderson Town Hall meeting will include a Q&A session for participants to provide feedback.
The quality of education is one of the highest priorities in the City of Henderson. In 2018, the city provided nearly $1.5 million in funding to meet the education needs in designated schools serving Henderson students. The 32 projects approved for funding were selected based on applications submitted by Henderson principals and teachers who highlighted the specific educational needs in their individual schools.
The Henderson Community Education Advisory Board (CEAB) represents Henderson City Council in working with Henderson local school precincts to foster educational strategies that are in alignment with the overarching goals and policies of the city, reflect community input and aim to increase student achievement. The board is comprised of 15 members of the community including business owners, community leaders, educators, and parents.
