Henderson Hosts Reindeer Dash 5K Run

Holiday fun run to see hundreds donning antlers, jingle bells and ugly sweaters

Henderson, Nev. – The City of Henderson is hosting the second annual Reindeer Dash 5K Run at 9 a.m. on Dec. 15 at Pecos Legacy Park, 150 Pecos Rd. Registration is $35 per person through Dec. 14, with day-of registration at $40 per person.

Designed as a non-competitive fun run, the Reindeer Dash 5K Run is open to people of all abilities and fitness levels ages 5 years and up. The event features a course along Pittman Wash Trail, with the start and finish line located at Pecos Legacy Park. Participants are encouraged to wear festive gear, including jingle bells, Santa hats, ugly sweaters, and antler headbands.

Run packets may be picked up at OrangeTheory Fitness (691 Marks St.) from 3-7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 13, and on event day from 8-9 a.m. at Pecos Legacy Park. The first 300 registered participants will receive a Reindeer Dash commemorative T-shirt.

The city is holding a same-day Reindeer Dash 1-Mile Walk. Registration is $20 per person including event day. Register online or in person at one of the city’s recreation centers using activity code 154288-58.

The Reindeer Dash is part of the City of Henderson’s Healthy Henderson initiative. The fitness, health and wellness program rewards members who participate in fitness-related classes, workshops and events such as the city’s 5K runs, or work out at city recreation centers. Customized membership packages are available for purchase at any of the city’s six recreation centers, Downtown Senior Center and Heritage Park Senior Facility.
