City of Henderson Again Named Among Best Workplaces for Commuters

April 18, 2019
Henderson, Nev. – Once more, the City of Henderson has been named one of the Best Workplaces for Commuters for offering employee commuter benefits that meet national standard of excellence criteria. Criteria are set by the Best Workplaces for Commuters program, which is managed by the Center for Urban Transportation Research at the University of South Florida.

The City of Henderson has been recognized as a best workplace for commuters since 2013, and this year, is one of only two Nevada cities to be recognized.

“Henderson is one of the top employers in the nation offering high-level commuter benefits to our employees,” said City Manager Richard A. Derrick. “Employees receive the support they need to get to and from work and be at their best before, during and after their work day.”

The City is among a select group of workplaces in the United States that have committed to employer-provided commuter benefits that result in at least 14 percent of their employee base not driving alone to work within a 12-month period.

The City of Henderson made the list for a seventh time because it offers transportation choices that include: compressed work week, carpool programs, preferential parking, bicycle and shower facilities, and access to Emergency Ride Home programs.
