Henderson Municipal Election Candidate Filing Ends January 31

Henderson, Nev. – Candidates can file for 2019 City of Henderson municipal elections through January 31. Offices up for election are City Council Wards I, II and IV and Municipal Court Judge, Department I.

Candidates can file at the City Clerk’s office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Thursday. Filing information is available online at VoteHendersonNV.com and at the City Clerk’s office located in Henderson City Hall, 240 S. Water St. Completed forms must be returned in person and a declaration of candidacy must be signed.

Eligible candidates must have been a Henderson resident for 12 months prior to the end of the filing period and for the City Council seats, must have lived within the ward for at least 30 days prior to Jan. 31. Candidates must also be registered voters.

Early voting for the 2019 primary municipal election will take place March 16-29 at Henderson City Hall, Galleria at Sunset, and neighborhood voting sites. Primary municipal election day is April 2 with vote centers open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. 

Early voting for the 2019 general municipal election will be held May 25-June 7 at Henderson City Hall, Galleria at Sunset, and neighborhood voting sites. General Election Day is June 11 and vote centers will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

If you are registered to vote within the city boundaries of Boulder City, Henderson, Las Vegas, or North Las Vegas, you may vote on election day at any vote center of your choice. You no longer have to go to a polling location within your own city. Instead, you may choose the vote center location that is the most convenient for you.
