Henderson Police Concludes Pedestrian Safety Enforcement Event

Henderson, Nev. – The Henderson Police Department, along with other Southern Nevada law enforcement agencies, concluded its 7th campaign under the current Joining Forces Program.

During the enforcement initiative that ran from March 15th through March 31st, officers stopped a combination of motorists and pedestrians totaling 463 stops.

Of the 463 stops completed, Traffic Officers issued 242 speeding citations, 31 distracted driving citations, 63 driver at fault violation citations (failing to yield to pedestrians), 8 pedestrian violation citations (crossing outside of a designated crosswalk area), 9 red light violation citations, 24 registration citations, 21 no insurance citations, 16 driver’s license violation citations and several other citations. Additionally, 61 motorists were issued a warning, in lieu of a citation.

Henderson Police Department received $183,860 in federal funding for the extra patrols through the Nevada Department of Public Safety – Office of Traffic Safety for the 2019 Joining Forces program. The grant provides funding for enforcement and education to reduce deaths and injuries on Nevada roadways.
