Henderson Police Conclude Joining Forces Event Targeting Distracted Drivers

Henderson, Nev. – The Henderson Police Department, along with other Southern Nevada law enforcement agencies, concluded its 8th campaign under the current Joining Forces Program.
During the enforcement initiative that ran from April 12th through April 22nd, officers made a total of 333 traffic stops.
Of the 333 stops completed, Traffic Officers issued 203 citations for speeding, 49 distracted driving citations, 17 no insurance citations, 10 driver’s license violation citations, 10 registration violation citations, 10 red light violation citations, 3 seatbelt violation citations, and multiple other citations. Additionally, 43 motorists were issued a warning, in lieu of a citation.
Henderson Police Department received $183,860 in federal funding for the extra patrols through the Nevada Department of Public Safety – Office of Traffic Safety for the 2019 Joining Forces program. The grant provides funding for enforcement and education to reduce deaths and injuries on Nevada roadways.
