Henderson Police Conclude Joining Forces Event Targeting Speeders

Henderson, Nev. – The Henderson Police Department concluded its 6th campaign under the current Joining Forces Program.

During the enforcement initiative that ran from February 28th through March 13th, Henderson Police, in conjunction with the Boulder City Police Department and the Nye County Sheriff’s Office, stopped 451 motorists.

Of the 451 traffic stops, Traffic Officers issued 314 speeding citations, 11 citations for registration violations, 11 citations for red light violations, 2 citations for no insurance, 13 citations for distracted driving, as well as several other citations issued for other traffic related offenses. Additionally, 89 motorists were issued a warning, in lieu of a citation.

The Henderson Police Department received $183,860 in federal funding through the Nevada Department of Public Safety - Office of Traffic Safety for the 2019 Joining Forces Program (performance period ending Sept 30, 2019). The grant provides funding for enforcement and education to reduce deaths and injuries on Nevada roadways. Enforcement events during the year focus on pedestrian safety, seat belt use, speeding, distracted driving and impaired driving.
