Henderson Police Conclude Joining Forces Event Targeting Impaired Drivers

Henderson, Nev. – The City of Henderson Police Department concluded an enhanced traffic enforcement targeting impaired drivers under the current Joining Forces Program.

During the enforcement initiative that ran from October 18th through November 4th, Henderson Police stopped 321 motorists resulting in 263 citations, 3 arrests, and 86 warnings in lieu of a citation.

Of the 321 traffic stops, Traffic Officers completed 1 arrest for Driving Under the Influence (DUI), 3 investigations for possible impairment (DUI), 128 drivers were cited for speeding, 8 cited for distracted driving (such as cell phone use), 14 drivers cited for red light violations, 14 cited for insurance violations, as well as 68 citations issued and 2 arrests for other traffic related offenses. 

The Henderson Police Department received $201,000 in federal funding for the extra patrols through the Nevada Department of Public Safety – Office of Traffic Safety for the 2020 (Performance period Oct 1, 2019 thru Sept 30, 2020) Joining Forces program.

Joining Forces is a multi-jurisdictional law enforcement program aimed at reducing injuries and crashes through statewide enforcement of traffic safety laws. The goal is to save lives by increasing public awareness about the dangers of making poor choices while driving.
