Henderson Police Investigate Fatal Traffic Collision Involving Two Vehicles

Henderson, Nev. – On March 7, at approximately 5:10 p.m., Henderson Police and Fire responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a Mercedes E-350 and a Chevy Silverado 2500 pickup truck on Volunteer Boulevard between Amigo Street and Gilespie Street. Preliminary investigation indicates that the Chevy truck was traveling westbound on Volunteer Boulevard and the Mercedes was traveling eastbound on Volunteer Boulevard. The Mercedes crossed into the oncoming lane of traffic resulting in a head on collision with the Chevy.

The driver of the Chevy sustained moderate injuries, the driver and passenger of the Mercedes sustained critical injuries and all three were transported to UMC Trauma in Las Vegas.

One of the subjects transported in critical condition later succumbed to their injuries.

Westbound Volunteer Boulevard from Amigo Street to Gilespie Street was closed for approximately three hours while fatal crash investigators conducted their investigation.

Preliminary investigation indicates that neither speed nor impairment were factors.

The name of the deceased will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office after next of kin notifications.

The crash is being investigated as the second traffic related fatality this year in The City of Henderson.
