Henderson Police Investigate Officer Involved Shooting

Henderson, Nev. – On October 21, 2019, at approximately 12:11 p.m., the City of Henderson Police Department responded to the 10000 block of S. Eastern Avenue in reference to a 9-1-1 disconnect, where it was believed a violent domestic incident was occurring.

Arriving officers located a 7-year-old male juvenile with apparent stab wounds and an agitated adult female.  A struggle ensued resulting in one officer using deadly force.

The juvenile was transported to UMC Trauma Center where he underwent emergency surgery and is expected to recover.

The adult female was transported to Sunrise Hospital in critical condition, where it was later learned she succumbed to her injuries.

The adult female was later confirmed to be the mother of the juvenile.

No officers were injured during this incident.

The identity of the female, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

As this is an open investigation, no further details will be released at this time.

This is the fourth officer-involved shooting in 2019.

The involved Henderson Police Officers have been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation, and names will be released after 48 hours, per department policy.
