Henderson Police Target Impaired Drivers

May 23, 2019

Henderson, Nev. – The City of Henderson Police Department will begin an enhanced traffic enforcement program targeting impaired drivers beginning May 24 and runs through June 2, to include the Memorial holiday weekend.

As part of the Joining Forces program, law enforcement agencies statewide will work together in an effort to help bring greater awareness to the importance of safe and sober driving. During this time, Henderson Police will dedicate extra officers for enforcement with the aim of reducing tragedies caused by people driving while impaired.

Henderson Police always urge the public to use a designated sober driver, taxi, or a ride-sharing company to avoid the potentially devastating impacts of drunk or impaired driving.

The Henderson Police Department received $183,360 in federal funding for the extra patrols through the Nevada Department of Public Safety – Office of Traffic Safety for the 2019 Joining Forces program.

Joining Forces is a multi-jurisdictional law enforcement program aimed at reducing injuries and crashes through statewide enforcement of traffic safety laws. The goal is to save lives by increasing public awareness about the dangers of making poor choices while driving.

Nevada’s goal is Zero Fatalities on our roads. To reach this goal it is critical to always drive sober. Visit for more information.
