Pedestrian Dies after Being Struck by Vehicle

April 08, 2019

Henderson, Nev. – On April 3, 2019, at about 1100 p.m., Henderson Police and Fire were dispatched to the area of Texas Avenue and Atlantic Avenue in reference to an auto-pedestrian accident.

Preliminary investigation revealed an adult male driver of a 2002 Acura was traveling southbound on Texas Avenue and failed to come to a stop at the posted stop sign at Texas and Atlantic, striking an adult male and an adult female pedestrian in an implied crosswalk.

The male pedestrian was transported to St Rose DeLima Hospital with minor injuries.

The female pedestrian was transported to Sunrise Trauma Center in critical condition.
Henderson Police Fatal Investigators later learned that the female pedestrian succumbed to her injuries over the weekend. Her name will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office after next of kin notifications

The intersection of Texas Avenue and Atlantic Avenue was closed for approximately three hours while the investigation was conducted.

Preliminary investigation indicates that speed and impairment did not appear to be factors.

The female’s death is the third traffic related fatality this year in The City of Henderson.
