Henderson, Nev. – On May 11, 2019, at about 3:00p.m., Henderson Police and Fire were dispatched to the area of Mountain Vista Street and Sunset Road in reference to an auto-pedestrian accident.

Preliminary investigation revealed an adult male driver of a 2016 Chevrolet sedan was traveling eastbound on Mountain Vista Street and left the roadway striking an adult male pedestrian that was next to a bus stop.

The male driver was transported to St. Rose Siena Hospital with unknown injuries.

The male pedestrian succumbed to his injuries at the scene.  His name will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office after next of kin notifications.

Westbound Sunset Road will be closed for several hours while the investigation is conducted.

Preliminary investigation indicates that driver impairment and speed appear to be factors.

The male’s death is the sixth traffic related fatality this year in the City of Henderson.
