Henderson, Nev. – This spring, the Henderson Pavilion once again gets the blues for a one-day celebration of blues music. The annual Henderson BluesFest returns to the Pavilion (200 S. Green Valley Pkwy.) on Saturday, April 11 from 3:30-9:30 p.m. (gates open at 2:30 p.m.). The event features headliner The Robert Cray Band with supporting act Mavis Staples. Dennis Jones Band and Southern Avenue will warm up the crowd.

Robert Cray has been bridging the lines between blues, soul and R&B for the past four decades, with five Grammy wins, a Blues Hall of Fame inductee, recipient of the Americana Lifetime achievement award, countless tours and over 20 acclaimed albums. The Cray Band has been featured in concert with artists like Eric Clapton, the Rolling Stones, John Lee Hooker, BB King, and Bonnie Raitt, who declared that the band leader is “an original; he’s passionate and puts on one of the best shows you’ll ever see.”

Hailed by NPR as “one of America’s defining voices of freedom and peace,” Mavis Staples is a once-in-a-generation artist whose impact on music and culture would be difficult to overstate. She’s both a Blues and a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, a GRAMMY Award-winner, a chart-topping soul/gospel/R&B pioneer, a National Arts Awards Lifetime Achievement recipient, and a Kennedy Center honoree.

Tickets start at $30.50 plus taxes and fees. Tickets can be purchased online at HendersonPavilion.com or by phone at 702-267-4TIX (4849).

Located at 200 S. Green Valley Pkwy., the canopy-free Henderson Pavilion is just minutes from the Las Vegas Strip. On-site parking is free.

Food and beverage vendors will be on-site during the musical performance. Outside food, sealed non-alcoholic beverages, and personal-sized coolers are permitted. Outside alcohol and glass containers are not permitted.
