Henderson Police Conclude Joining Forces Initiative Targeting Pedestrian Safety

Henderson, Nev. – The Henderson Police Department, along with other Southern Nevada law enforcement agencies, concluded its 11th campaign under the current Joining Forces Program.

During the enforcement initiative that ran from June 5th through June 21st, officers stopped a combination of motorists and pedestrians totaling 380 traffic stops.

Of the 380 traffic stops, Traffic Officers issued 241 speeding citations, 51 pedestrian safety violation citations, 13 no insurance citations, and 43 other various violation citations. Additionally, 57 motorists were issued a warning, in lieu of a citation.

The Henderson Police Department received $201,000 in federal funding for the extra enforcement initiatives through the Nevada Department of Public Safety - Office of Traffic Safety for the 2020 Joining Forces program.  The grant provides funding for enforcement and education to reduce deaths and injuries on Nevada roadways. Enforcement events during the year focus on pedestrian safety, seat belt use, speeding, distracted driving and impaired driving.
