January 2020 Homicide Investigation Results in a Grand Jury Indictment

Henderson Detectives and LVMPD’s Gang Unit conducted an extensive investigation into the Henderson shooting death of 26-year-old Kevin Farnsworth, which occurred on the evening of January 14th, 2020 in the area of W. Warm Springs Road and Donner Pass Drive. 

The investigation identified 22-year-old Eric Abasta as the suspect.

On Friday, June 26, 2020, a grand jury indicted Abasta on one count of Open Murder.

Abasta, who is currently in custody at CCDC on unrelated charges, was officially booked on the Open Murder charge on June 29, 2020.

Due to the fact that this is still an open investigation and the adjudication process has not taken place, no additional details will be released at this time.

Henderson Police Investigate Shooting
Resulting in Death

Henderson, Nev. – On January 14th at approximately 9:30 p.m., the City of Henderson Police and Fire Department responded to the area of W. Warm Springs Road and Donner Pass Drive in reference to an unresponsive subject down on the sidewalk.

Upon police arrival, officers located an adult male deceased at the scene with an apparent gunshot wound and the suspect(s) outstanding. 

Henderson Detectives preliminary investigation revealed the victim had been walking on Warm Springs Road talking on his cell phone when the shooting occurred.

The name of the decedent will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office pending notification of next of kin.

As this is an open investigation, no further details will be released at this time.

This is being investigated as the second homicide for the City of Henderson for 2020.
