Home for the Holidays - Nov 30-Dec. 21, 2019

The City of Henderson is again offering discounted adoption fees in an effort to place every adoptable cat and dog at least one year old and all rabbits into loving homes. From Nov. 30-Dec. 31, the City of Henderson Animal Care and Control Facility will offer adoption fees at a 50 percent discount for adult dogs and cats and all rabbits.

The Shelter is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday (closed holidays). Anyone who would like to adopt a pet during Home for the Holidays must have their furry friend chosen before 4:30 p.m. The Shelter is located at 300 E. Galleria Dr. (east of Boulder Highway, near the Bird Viewing Preserve).

The cost to adopt a one-year-old or older cat or dog and all rabbits will be half price, with an additional 50 percent discount for Henderson residents (please bring a driver’s license or other state-issued ID):

• Adult Cats (regularly $80): $20 for Henderson residents; $40 for non-residents

• Adult Dogs (regularly $90): $22.50 for Henderson residents; $45 for non-residents

Two Henderson PetSmart locations are participating in Home for the Holidays with cat adoptions during their regular business hours: 286 W. Lake Mead Pkwy. and 531 N. Stephanie St.

Adoption costs include routine vaccines, spay or neuter surgery if not already done, microchip ID and registration, and rabies tag or Henderson license (depending on where you live). Anyone with pets at home who wishes to adopt must provide current rabies vaccination and spay/neuter paperwork to get licensed, no exceptions. If pets are already licensed with City of Henderson, this does not apply.
