Stand Up & Be Counted!
The U.S. Census takes place only once every 10 years, but the results have significant, long-term effects on every Henderson resident. Responses to the Census directly determine state congressional representation and impact the distribution of federal funds. In 2020, the federal government will allocate $675 billion to states based on Census figures. This funding supports vital needs right here in Henderson, including schools, housing, health care, social services, fire, police, and transportation.
Every Henderson resident counts!
It is important we make sure Henderson gets its fair share. Every Henderson resident not counted means we could lose our share of federal funding to other cities and states.
The Census consists of only nine questions, with seven additional questions per person household member, and should take around 15 minutes to complete. Participation is safe and private. And, for the first time, residents can complete the Census online - in 13 languages - at 2020Census.gov
beginning March 12! Mail- and phone-in participation options are still available.
